Apple Pricing Changes - iPhones drop, iPads Rise

With the launch of the iPhone 6S last Friday, Apple has reduced the price of the iPhone 5S and some models of the iPhone 6 and 6Plus.

Meanwhile the price of iPads has increased by as much as 10%. No official reason has been supplied for the increase but presumably it relates to the drop in the value of the Aussie dollar relative to the greenback.

Severe shortage of iPhone 5S, 6, 6Plus and new 6S

However while the price of the iPhone 5S, 6 and 6Plus have dropped, you could be lucky to find one to buy!

There is a nationwide shortage of these models and uncertainty surrounds the levels of future supply.

Telstra is waiting on advice from Apple for the ETA of its next shipment but this may not arrive before mid-October.

"It is a very fluid situation with iPhone supply at this time," according to VoicePlus Dispatch Manager, David Gauntlett.

"Over the past few weeks supply has dried up to a trickle and on occasion has stopped altogether. We are advising customers where possible to place their order in advance if they know they will need an iPhone as the supply from Apple is currently unreliable."

The new iPhone 6S and 6SPlus are also limited in availability.
